Charity day is a resounding success

On 22nd October we held a charity day at our Basildon head office, to raise money for two very worthy causes – Cancer Research UK and local school Glenwood. Enthusiastic TWO Services staff bought raffle and tombola tickets, as well as homemade cakes, donated by staff.

Thanks to the generous support of customers and suppliers such as Commercial Catering, Halls Refrigeration, Axon, RH Hall and Carlton Services, to name a few, we had some fantastic prizes on offer. They included vouchers worth up to £100, for retailers including John Lewis, Argos, Next and Amazon, plus two luxury coffee machines.

When the days’ proceedings had been totted up, we were delighted to have raised £600 for Cancer Research UK. Financial Director, Jon Osborn, then matched this amount with a donation to Glenwood School in Benfleet, which caters for children aged 3-19 who have severe or profound learning difficulties, often combined with physical or sensory impairment.  One of our commercial catering engineers has first-hand experience of the difference this school makes, as his daughter is a pupil.

Thanks to all who donated or took part, and a special thanks to the team behind the scenes, who organised it and worked so hard to ensure it was a resounding success.
