In good company: standing with those making a difference

As we move through the second half of the year, we’ve taken time to recognise the people and organisations who are making a tangible difference in their communities. At TWO Services, we believe that meaningful support often comes from simply being present, offering help where it’s needed, and standing alongside those already doing vital work.

Supporting community-led work

In Southend, The One Love Project continues to provide meals and a welcoming space for individuals facing homelessness, poverty and mental health challenges. We’re always glad to be able to offer practical support that helps keep their operations running smoothly.

At Trust Links, a charity focused on mental health and wellbeing in Essex, we’ve helped update their kitchen facilities through the donation of a new fan oven. It’s a practical contribution to a wider effort that supports those navigating complex challenges in their lives.

We’ve also kept in touch with the team at Abberton Reservoir, where a conservation project we were involved with last year continues to take shape. This spring, smooth newts and thriving plant life have started to appear in the new pond area. It has been encouraging to see how collaborative environmental efforts can create long-term benefits.

Practical support where it’s needed

Our partnership with The CRUMBS Project has continued this year. CRUMBS offers hospitality training and life skills to adults with disabilities and mental health conditions. Their team’s commitment to creating opportunities for others is clear in everything they do.

Our role has been to support some of the day-to-day needs that help their work run smoothly, from providing a new dishwasher to ease their kitchen operations, to donating items for their themed events, and helping mark the achievements of trainees at their annual awards lunch. The credit belongs entirely to the staff, volunteers and participants who make CRUMBS such a welcoming and purposeful place.

Standing alongside others

We’ve also contributed to wider community and industry events this year. At the Test Track 10 Races in support of St. Luke’s Hospice, and on National Healthcare Estates and Facilities Day, we’ve had the opportunity to lend support to those working behind the scenes in essential services.

These activities are not about visibility or recognition; they are about quietly supporting the efforts of others and acknowledging the work that often goes unnoticed.

As we look ahead to the rest of 2025, we remain committed to listening and offering help where it’s useful. Whether it’s a charity we’ve worked with before or a new cause introduced by someone in our network, we’ll continue to play our part in the way we know best, by being dependable, thoughtful and present.
