Earlier this year, we proudly announced that long-standing team member, Kay Wiskin, had been promoted to Sales Director. Having been part of TWO Services for nearly two decades, Kay’s progression through the company has been nothing short of inspiring. Six months into her new role, we caught up with Kay to hear how she’s finding life as Sales Director and what lies ahead for the sales team and the wider business.

How has the transition felt so far?
“It’s been a very smooth transition. Having been with TWO for nearly 20 years, I know the business well, so stepping into this role felt like the natural next step. Of course, there have been areas where I’ve needed to expand my knowledge, but I’ve really embraced that. It’s been a very natural progression and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

What have been the biggest changes in your day-to-day responsibilities?
“I spend a lot more time in meetings and on Teams calls now! My focus has shifted from being predominantly out quoting face-to-face to dealing with more of the administrative, financial and procurement elements that come with supplier agreements. I still have regular contact with our clients, but now I’m involved in maintaining and strengthening those long-term partnerships rather than initial introductions.”

What surprised you most about taking on this role?
“How comfortable it felt. Having worked my way up through the sales department, I understand the ins and outs of every role. I think that experience has helped me transition confidently. I’ve surprised myself with how ready I was for it. Even when I’ve had to step into something new, I’ve found that diving straight in is the best way to learn.”

Which moments or achievements stand out most from the past six months?
“Building and maintaining relationships. We’ve secured new deals, renewed existing contracts and strengthened key partnerships. That sense of satisfaction and achievement makes the job so worthwhile.”

Are there any projects or partnerships that highlight TWO’s growth recently?
“We’ve been having regular meetings with Compass UK and Foodbuy, which have been really exciting in terms of future opportunities. The feedback we receive from our caterers and facilities management partners is always positive and genuine, which reinforces how vital relationships are to sustainable growth.”

What have you learned about leading a larger, more geographically spread team?
“Time management is absolutely key. It’s important to check in regularly, understand what’s happening on the ground and be available to support the team when needed. It’s a juggling act at times, but I’m definitely improving.”

You’ve been part of TWO for almost 20 years. How do you feel the company has evolved?
“I’ve seen TWO go through many phases of growth and change. Culturally, we’ve become even more inclusive, with a greater focus on wellbeing and development. Operationally, we’ve moved from very manual systems to being data-driven and efficient. Strategically, we’ve become more forward-thinking and focused on long-term sustainability, not just business growth, but our impact on customers, communities and the environment.”

What advice would you give to someone stepping into a senior leadership role after many years in the same company?
“Embrace the change and grab the opportunity with both hands. If you’ve been given that chance, it’s because the company believes in you. There will be moments of self-doubt, but that’s not a bad thing, it shows you care. Keep learning and be patient with yourself as you grow into the role.”

What are your priorities for the months ahead?
“My focus is on strengthening existing relationships, improving sales processes and identifying where we can increase sales within the companies we already work with. Longer term, I’m keen to develop brand new partnerships and continue evolving as a team.”

TWO has always been described as a family. What does that mean to you now as a senior leader?
“TWO has always been a place where people genuinely care for one another. You feel valued as an individual, not just as an employee. That’s something I’ve always loved, and I’m determined to maintain it. My door is always open to my team, whether it’s for work-related issues or personal challenges. That sense of care and togetherness is what makes TWO such a special place to work.”

After nearly two decades, what still excites you about coming to work each day?
“There’s always a sense of purpose in sales. Seeing the results of not only my own efforts but everyone’s combined hard work keeps me motivated. I’m proud of the role I’ve played in the company’s success and excited to be part of its next chapter. I also just enjoy coming into the office, it’s a genuinely great group of people to work with.”

Kay’s journey is a true reflection of TWO Services’ values, hard work, loyalty and a commitment to excellence. As Sales Director, she continues to play a key role in shaping our company’s future, leading with integrity and passion while ensuring our clients and teams remain at the heart of everything we do.
