Meet Steph: The operational heartbeat behind our cleaning services

At TWO Services, delivering a reliable, high-quality cleaning service relies on careful planning and coordination behind the scenes. Steph has been a key part of that process since joining the business in 2013. We caught up with her to find out more about her role, her experience at TWO Services and what motivates her day to day.

When did you join TWO Services, and what appealed to you about becoming part of the team?

I joined TWO Services in 2013 and was excited to become part of a family-run business. Having worked for larger companies in the past where you can feel like just a number, it was refreshing to join a business where you are genuinely valued as part of the team.

How would you describe your role to someone who doesn’t know what you do day to day?

I manage the cleaning diary, booking in approximately 200–250 cleans per month, rising to over 400 during busier periods. I organise the teams, issue health and safety documentation, submit permits and deal with any operational challenges that may arise.

Which parts of your job require the most organisation or problem-solving?

Scheduling work during busy periods requires a lot of organisation. I need to schedule work carefully to ensure all client requirements are met, while also making sure everything works logistically, including timings and locations. When unforeseen situations occur, such as manpower or access problems, I liaise with the Operations Managers to get things resolved as efficiently as possible.

What have you picked up along the way since starting at TWO Services, either professionally or personally?

I’ve developed a much stronger understanding of operational planning. Professionally, I’ve improved my ability to coordinate teams and manage heavy workloads. Personally, I’ve become more confident in making decisions.

Has anything stood out to you about working here that you didn’t expect?

I didn’t realise just how much planning happens behind the scenes. I knew I would be joining a great team, but I didn’t expect to make such great friends along the way.

What motivates you most in your role, especially on busy days?

I like to keep the diary as full as possible and always try to beat last year’s figures. It’s really rewarding to receive positive feedback from clients when you’ve helped organise the work and everything has gone smoothly.

How do you feel your role supports the wider team and the service we deliver to clients?

I pride myself on ensuring jobs are properly planned and that any relevant notes are communicated to supervisors in advance. I work closely with the Operations Managers to make sure everything runs smoothly and that work is completed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

When you’re away from work, how do you like to spend your time?

I enjoy spending time with friends and taking my nephews out on days away. I’m also a huge Lord of the Rings fan and am currently saving to go to New Zealand to visit Hobbiton. I love a holiday or city break and try to fit in as many as I can throughout the year.

Steph’s role may sit largely behind the scenes, but it plays a vital part in the service we deliver to our clients every day. Her organisation, commitment and close collaboration with the wider team help ensure our operations run smoothly, even during the busiest periods, making her an invaluable member of the TWO Services team.
